Sparkling since 1856
Adam Henkell (1801 – 1866) founded a wine merchant in Mainz in 1832 and laid the foundations for today’s company Henkell & Co. His grandson Otto Henkell (1869 – 1929) achieved a breakthrough on the national and international market with the creation of the brand product Henkell Trocken at the end of the 19th Century. Apart from the premium sparkling wine Adam Henkell and Adam Henkell Rosé, which carry the name of the company’s founder, the Henkell & Co. range contains Henkell Trocken, Henkell Rosé and Henkell Kardinal as well as Henkell Brut, Henkell Blanc de Blancs, Henkell Halbtrocken and Henkell Dosage Zéro.
Adam Henkell Chardonnay Brut Vintage
This sparkling wine is named after the founder of the company: Adam Henkell. His close connections with France and his highly qualified cellar masters paved the way for the beginning of sparkling wine production on the Rhine over 150 years ago. Today specially selected Chardonnay wines are used to produce this extraordinary Adam Henkell prestige bottle fermented cuvée and give it its distinctive character.
Adam Henkell Rosé Brut Vintage
Selected Gamay wines from top French estates give this rosé cuvée the typical taste of floral tones. Bottle fermented, this sparkling wine is a speciality which does justice to Adam Henkell’s affection for France.
For decades now this timeless classic has been Germany’s best known sparkling wine brand and enjoys an excellent reputation worldwide. High quality standards and a consistent brand/price policy together with intensive advertising support within the sparkling wine market have justified and consolidated this special position. Henkell Trocken combines sparkling wine competence, elegance, class, unconventiality, activity and dynamics like no other in an independent and inimitable way, making it the ideal sparkling wine for casual but stylish celebrations. Henkell Trocken is a classic dry, fully matured, elegant sparkling wine with distinctive character and a gentle flowery, vinous bouquet.
Henkell Brut Vintage
Henkell Brut Vintage is a full-bodied, vinous sparkling wine which attracts the wine connoisseurs with a well-balanced and lively bouquet. It combines crisp fruit-acidity with rich taste and a long-lasting finish. Wines from one single vintage form the basis of this exceptional sparkling wine.
Henkell Blanc de Blancs
Experience the pure joie de vivre and the extraordinary feeling of elegance and freshness with this fruity sparkling premium cuvée, created from specially selected white grapes from renowned wine growing regions. To preserve the full taste, the carefully picked grapes were gently crushed and fermented at a low temperature. After delicate ripening, a premium cuvée was created. Through this complex procedure a great sparkling wine, finely effervescent with typical delicate flavour and great potential, was produced.
Only the finest quality wines from the best wine-growing regions of France are used for the production of Henkell Rosé. Its delicate colour and fruity-fresh taste have won wine-lovers’ hearts. And with its elegantly dry character, the Rosé has remained loyal to the rest of its family tree.
This medium dry, fully mature sparkling wine owes its elegant character to a cuvée of Grüner Veltliner and Welsch-Riesling. Henkell Halbtrocken (medium dry) sparkles with fine pearls and lasts long in the glass. It is a well balanced and harmonic composition, a fully rounded, downright consummate taste experience.
Henkell Trocken Kardinal captivates with its racy, wholehearted fresh taste and rich, fruity nose. Made from Blaufränkisch grapes, a red grape variety widely planted in Austria and Zweigelt blue, a crossbreed from Blaufränkische and Sankt Laurent, it is a delicately dry red sparkling wine with a rich body and velvety taste.
Henkell Dosage Zéro
The cuvée Henkell Dosage Zéro is made of the same high-quality matured wines, composed and produced for our classic Henkell Trocken. The difference lies in the dosage: Henkell Dosage Zéro is not dosaged at all, hence is made without any addition of sugar after fermentation.
