When friends meet and celebrate, Kuemmerling can’t be missed. For decades now this popular herb liqueur stands for values like friendship, honesty and trustworthiness.
In 1921 already Hugo Kümmerling started the production of herb liqueurs in Deesbach, in the Thuringian Forest. At the end of the thirties he developed a top secret recipe that is still used today. This recipe is based solely on natural ingredients, which are responsible for the unique taste, not too sweet and not too bitter. Liquorice, cinnamon bark, clove, angelica root and crumbled spearmint stand for a larger number of herbs used that characterise Kuemmerling’s premium quality. Kuemmerling is a member of the range of “half bitters”, which means that the sugar content is above 100 g/l, and thus belongs to the milder and sweeter varieties of herb liqueurs.
