New prosecco and a new brand identity

At this year’s ProWein, the Henkell Group will introduce the Italian prosecco D.O.C. market leader Mionetto and present a completely reworked Deinhard brand identity.

The success and quality of Mionetto products are based on many years of experience, the best base products and total control of the entire production process. As a result of this interplay, the spumantes and frizzantes from Mionetto impress with their unbelievable clarity and depth of taste: They are simple and refined at the same time, and every nuance is perceptible.

The Deinhard brand is also very much under the spotlight this year. The complete range, for the domestic market as well as export, was relaunched with a new look. All the Deinhard sparkling wines and wines present themselves confidently and impressively, and are created from one mould, which guarantees a greater recognition factor and places the brand increasingly in the forefront of the competition.

Also new this year is the updated look of the French Gratien & Meyer Cuvée Flamme Brut and Gratien & Meyer Cuvée Flamme Brut Rosé, whose visual appearance was enhanced once again.

A look back at the innovations presented at the 2008 ProWein indicates pleasing product developments. Both of the range extensions of the successful Henkell brand – Henkell Dosage Zéro and Halbtrocken – have developed well. The same goes for Deinhard Trocken Spätburgunder Rosé wine, which has found its following. The truly outstanding contender is Wodka Gorbatschow Citron: It was voted as “Newcomer of the Year 2008” (Getränke Zeitung), a category that establishes the most successful newcomers with the greatest future potential according to the trade – an accolade that also promises a successful market development for Germany’s most popular vodka.

Last year, other products from the company’s portfolio once again won lots of top awards too. For instance, the premium champagne Alfred Gratien Millésimé 1998 was awarded a gold medal at the MUNDUSvini 2008, and at the Vinalies Internationales Paris 2008. At the same competition the Cuvées Brut and Brut Rosé won a silver medal. At the International Wine & Spirits Competition, Henkell Rosé received a gold medal. Generally, Henkell sparkling wine was well represented in the top rankings at sparkling wine competitions: At the LaSelección – International Grand Prix of the World’s Best Sparkling Wines in Mallorca, Henkell Brut was awarded a gold medal and the Trocken, Rosé and Blanc de Blancs varieties took a silver medal.

Other brands from the Henkell portfolio also made a name for themselves at the International Spirits Competition (ISW): Particularly the fine Spanish Brandy Cardenal Mendoza Solera Gran Reserva, which received a gold medal, as well as Scharlachberg Meisterbrand and the Echte Uebersee-Rum Der Gute Pott (54%), which both were awarded a silver medal.

At ProWein, Henkell & Co. will showcase the proseccos from Mionetto, the relaunched sparkling wines and wines from Deinhard, as well as other prestigious products from the sparkling wine, wine and spirits portfolio, as usual in Hall 5, Stand J87.
