Highest Quality-Award for Henkell & Co.

Nov 15, 2010

The Henkell & Co. has been awarded with the “Bundesehrenpreis” (Honor Award of the Federal Republic of Germany). The price is bestowed by the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (BMELV), and thus represents the highest distinction that a company of the German food industry can receive.

The “Bundesehrenpreis” was awarded for the first time for producers of quality spirits. The prize giving ceremony took place in a festive setting on the fairgrounds in Nuremberg. Prof. Dr. Achim Stiebing, vice-president of the DLG (German Organization of Agriculture) together with Dr. Theodor Seegers, head of the department for agricultural markets in the BMELV, handed over the certificate and medal to Christian Schulz and Klaus Malinowsky of the Henkell & Co.

In total 17 German producers of spirituous beverages received prizes. Awarded were the companies with the best testing results in the international DLG-quality check of 2010. 134 organizations with overall 577 products had participated in the testing, which counts as the most important German performance comparison.

“To emerge victorious out of such a big pool of participants is underlining that the company with its high-quality premium products is ranked among the top companies in the German spirit sector”, Dr. Seegers was praising the winner.

At the spirit-competition of the DLG 2010 not only Pott-Rum, the German market leader for dark rum, was honored twice, but also the premium-spirit Wodka Gorbatschow Platinum 44. Likewise each, the classic of Wodka Gorbatschow and the new version of Wodka Gorbatschow Citron received a gold medal as well.

At Henkell & Co., the big traditional German company with its broad portfolio of premium-products in the segments of sparkling wine/champagne, wine and spirituous beverages, they are very pleased to belong to such an illustrious group of the quality-elite.
